EXPERIMENT 1: The Stair Conceptual Model

I wanted to explore the fluidity of Off-White's products in its stair. Off-White blurs boundaries between the feminine and masculine, I tried to emulate this by creating curved forms out of angular geometry. I was also inspired by the form of falling fabric and wanted to create similar curves and depth with my stair. The stair needed to showcase the models' clothing as they descended, so I eliminated as many elements that would block the audience's view. The stair would need support and a safety handrail, I am intending to experiment with long, thin metal bars for this purpose. The handrail could also serve to accentuate the curved form.

I am developing the stair for Autofabrica. I want to create a stair adjacent to a ramp. The stairs would blend into or be a part of the underground 'topography', and the ramp would be a smooth curve cleanly cut from rock.
